Some disgruntled French wine growers have turned to terrorism in an attempt to get more subsidies. I don't know internal French politics very well but I imagine throwing sticks of dynamite around doesn't improve your poll numbers. This brings together two past times of the French, strikes and revolutions. The article sites increased production of wine and decreased consumption for a collapse in prices and hence de-gruntling. The Aussies and Yanks continue to grab more market share. It does mention there have been previous "crises" but it does not mention how they were resolved.
