Great small improvements in Emergency Response

FNC casually mentioned a tiny but revolutionary idea in emergency services coming from Miami, Florida. The regular ambulance service is being supplemented with a small corps of motorcycle EMTs. They carry less equipment than a full ambulance but more than police. In emergency health situations minutes matter and if you have ever seen an ambulance going five miles an hour down a stretch of road while passenger cars move out of the way or have watched flashing lights navigate clover leafs to get to an accident they already passed it is easy to see how great an idea this is.

Minimal cost for a service that will save extra lives (or at least improve outcomes) on its first day of service and every day after. What is there to complain about other than that no one started doing this sooner?
