The A.P.B. at Jacob Wirth's was a success. Most of the crowd of twelve hadn't met each other before (I hadn't met any of them). The apolitical was easy to keep as conversation was crowded with I'm-sorry-what-is-your-name and talking vocations, etc. After eight O'Clock the pianist started and it was a summer camp sing along. Bruce functioned as house chorister - as a former chorister myself I can vouch that the job primarily involves just doing so everyone else feels OK to follow (tip: you only need to know the first line of every verse and chorus). Opposite us on the piano was a late twenty-something party of girls some of whom I met in the smokers section (aka the curb). Turns out many of them are war crimes lawyers for the U.N. Go figure.

It was a standard meet-and-greet where folks were stilted at first and chatty after some food and beer (at Wirth's that means brauts, kraut, and house beer all quite tasty).

I might update this post tomorrow with links but either way just check the first link to find the other people that were there. Mostly right-of-center but not exclusively so.

Oh, and Bruce wore his kilt.
