8 guys, $20 buy in, good times. The women folk made some food and anchored the game of quarters (where busted players go between games). I had hot cards pretty much the whole night so I managed to do OK. The first game I was chip leader early and managed to bleed chips slowly enough to come in second ($40, double the buy in). This is my "asshole" strategy: you either play to win or play to not lose. Unfortunately even with increasing blinds every 15 minutes the game took two and a half hours.
The second game I played to win and got knocked out early. The third game was quick and at the end I had a 2-1 chip lead over the remaining player. It was 2am so I offered to split the pot with Jon Chan (not that Jonny Chan). He said no and promptly took half my stack making him the 2-1 chip leader. I rallied back to even and this time he took my offer.
I walked away up $70 for the night which nearly covered cabs and beer. That's a win in my book.
NB: Hallahan says I washed away my tell but won't say what it was ;)
