The local news had a local flavor story about 4H city kids who spend their weekends outside the city raising their own Turkeys. They pick their own chick, name him, and when the big day comes take him home in a box. The reporter did the normal city-kid-in-the-country angle and tried to cap the piece with some kindness-of-children soundbites. "Q: so will you be able to eat Fred? A: sure, turkeys are kinda mean." Quotes from other kids include "I raised him, so I know he will taste good" and Īt's not a pet or anything."
