Greetings From Lithuania

I think I was made to live in Vlinius. The town is unkempt but not ruinously so. The touch of the law is light - customs was a sign saying "find an officer if you have anything to declare." Food is dirt cheap - $10 for a dinner and $2 for a half liter of beer. The people are nice and the girls are pretty - I'm just turning in at 7AM with a wakeup call at the desk for 8:30. The language is manageable and everyone between the ages of 20-40 is either from somewhere else or has lived somewhere else for a few years (the national population is only 3M).

In other news my talk on Wednesday might be good or bad, but it will be well attended. Of the 240 attendees I'd only met about 1/4 before. Of the rest the highest compliment I got was "You don't talk loudly for an American" to which I responded "Just wait, just wait."
