Last night I told my coach we weren't going to add anything new until my average got back into the 150s. The lesson went OK and when I subbed tonight for the Tuesday league I managed 123, 151, 150 (141 average). Not horrible considering I only had two strikes and left a dozen 7 or 10 pins. I was in the right area but was wobbling light to heavy into the pocket.
On the other hand all those 9s will be perfect for tomorrow night's no-tap tourney!
PS, coach Don did add one slightly new thing. Instead of releasing the ball with palm facing the ceiling I now drop my ring finger some. Thing is what happens naturally when you try to keep your palm up but by doing it deliberately the rotation is more consistent. It isn't the most intuitive motion though, try holding a glass in your hand with the bottom facing the wall and your palm up, and then setting the bottom on a table without turning your wrist. You end up just fanning your fingers into a staircase. This makes more sense if you actually try it.
