Nifty plots of the popularity of surnames in various countries.
I enjoy how many Germanic names also tend to show up in Argentina. Heh.

[jackdied] Interesting, my (Germanic) surname is most popular in Luxembourg, then Germany, then the US. On my mother's side (also Germanic) it goes Germany, Austria, then the US. The US rank isn't surprising because German-Americans are about 13% 17% of the population. The reason that you never hear about them as a populous minority is because if you ask them about their nationality they say "American." The only time we are "German" is at dinner time. For that reason we used-to-be-Germans get along well with the used-to-be-Poles. Mmmm, Sauerkraut. [historical aside: used-to-be-Germans weren't interned during WWII like the Japanese because they were 20% of the population]

I so wish I had thought of that first.

Brothels in the city offer sex for as little as £15 .. The report found 77 different ethnicities among women being offered for sex..
I couldn't think of 77 different ethnicities given a globe and an hour. These investigators must be very thorough.

I loved this show as a kid.
[jackdied]. I did too, but quickly figured out that most of the recipes didn't work - because I was allowed to try them. The fact that Richard Dean Anderson was just as anti-gun as MacGyver was also a disapointment.

This vile concoction is variously ascribed to the US West and Mid-West. It consists of a tap beer and a shot of tomato/V8/bloody Mary mix. You want to know what it tastes like? Imagine beer mixed with tomato juice. It tastes exactly like that.

I was tricked into trying it and and I'm still pissed off.
